From what you've described, it sounds like you are attempting to update the iPhone over-the-air, or from the iPhone itself over Wi-Fi. On first glance, the new software might not look like much.

However, take a deeper look and the new iOS 11 operating system is a completely new animal. You can download iOS 11 either over-the-air, or via iTunes. Before you chose your method, you must check whether your phone is available for update. We recommend waiting for the finished iOS 11, not the beta version.
